AMD enters the game with new RX 6000M mobile graphics and two desktop GPUs
AMD used CES 2022 to launch a whole host of new graphics processors, both on mobile and desktop. For laptops, the company expanded its Radeon RX 6000M series of integrated GPUs that are included with the new AMD 6000 series mobile processors, besides as introducing the Radeon RX 6800S range. AMD didn't forget about desktop gamers and launched the Radeon RX 6500 XT and RX 6400.
These new GPUs (both mobile and desktop) make use of AMD's partnership with manufacturer TSMC to unlock the 6nm transistor manufacturing process. This allows the companies to cram far more performance onto the same size flake without sacrificing efficiency. This results in AMD's RDNA two technology, which is the backbone for all these new Radeon 6000 GPUs.
Interestingly, these graphics processors don't just support GDDR6 RAM and AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), merely too new and enhanced features like AMD Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), a new driver-based engineering science that works a lot similar NVIDIA's DLSS and AMD'south own FSR.
Leading the RX 6000M expansion pack is the powerful Radeon RX 6850M XT GPU, which AMD claims can deliver "epic 1440p performance for next-gen premium laptops." It's stated that this GPU alone performance approximately vii percentage faster in games on average compared to the previous flagship Radeon RX 6800M.
Joining the Radeon RX 6850M XT are the Radeon RX 6650M XT, Radeon RX 6650M, Radeon RX 6500M, and Radeon RX 6300M. For the RX 6800S range of graphics, AMD is offering the Radeon RX 6800S, Radeon RX 6700S, and Radeon RX 6000S. These iii graphics processors are designed for more power-efficient and compact laptops.
While AMD didn't launch a new flagship desktop-class best graphics card, the company did roll out the Radeon RX 6500 XT and Radeon RX 6400. The 6500 XT is claimed past AMD to offer upwardly to 35 percent faster gaming performance at 1080p compared to similarly capable NVIDIA offerings, whilst the Radeon RX 6400 is designed for use within OEM systems.
To help with all these new graphics processors, AMD is working on a new version of its software suite. Expected to arrive quondam in Q1 2022, the new software will include support for Radeon Super Resolution that will work wonders with about games on RDNA-based AMD Radeon GPUs. In that location'southward also AMD Link v.0 for streaming games on a telephone, tablet, or even another PC.
Whether you're gaming on a desktop or plan to buy a new laptop with AMD internals, you're going to have a good time in your favorite games as nosotros head into 2022.
