Kinect Hack Helps You Park Your Car, Can’t Help Drive It Yet - coomerablither

Although IT can't drive your car just yet, the power of Kinect can now represent used to help park it — thanks to the workplace of Gibson Hu from Sydney, Australia's University of Applied science.

Gibson's hack, which he divided up on YouTube, uses a Kinect camera installed within the rear bumper of a car, which then feeds live TV to the driver via the dashboard. The Kinect serves Eastern Samoa an extra set of "eyes" to help the driver back up the car without hitting something (or someone).

Many modern cars, such as the Nisan Juke and 2022 Ford Focus, already have similar "reverse parking serve" features built in, but Gibson's hack differs in that it can display the video course in various forms. It can display a rear view in flooded color, infrared, and a birds-eye mode. Not only that merely this hack could technically work any vehicle, bringing modern car-engineering science to any cable car, New or old, without the agiotage appurtenance pricetag.

C. D. Gibson illustrious that the hack, made possible thanks to a combination of Ubuntu, OpenCV and Libfreenect, could make its way to Android. The possible Android port would bring the vital TV feed to a countless amount of handsets and essentially opening up this hack to many more the great unwashe–mainly those without screens in their motorcar dashboard.
