How To Find What Version Of Windows 10 I Have

I accept read a lot of data in the Community Forum and I saw several people request the same question, but I still oasis't seen reply. (In fact 1 thread on the subject got downright NASTY among the posters.)  Perhaps information technology's but something I don't understand, and seems like a stupid question far more techy than I. My OS is Windows 10-Home. I run across references made all the time to diverse Windows Servers, from style back in the day, to more updated versions. How does one go about determining which Windows SERVER they are using? or, is the Os considered the SERVER? I have wanted to ask this question for the by five years, but  accept just never gotten effectually to it. Does my version of Windows SERVER get managed past my Isp Provider, or do they "host" the virtually updated versions of Windows SERVER for their customers? I would appreciate it if someone could please answer my question. Having read well-nigh of these posts, it seems that a lot of people have this question, but no i has an reply. Is the question merely to light-headed to reply? If then, then consider me "silly" and explain it to me anyway, delight, Give thanks you in advance,

Cat Jax

From what I can understand from your post, but like yous are using Windows 10 Domicile OS, in that location are many other Windows Bone like Windows Server 2016. You tin read more than most it here: https://world wide web.microsoft.com/en-in/cloud-platform/windows-server

What OS yous want to use depends on for what purpose you lot want it, its functionality. The above link as well provides a costless e-book : The Ultimate Guide to Windows Server 2016 , you tin download it.

EDIT: And to add , if you want to know the which version of Windows Dwelling house you are using, Printing Winkey +R to open up Run Window, type Winver and press Enter

I have read a lot of information in the Community Forum and I saw several people asking the same question, merely I still haven't seen respond. (In fact one thread on the subject got downright NASTY among the posters.)  Mayhap it's just something I don't empathise, and seems like a stupid question far more techy than I. My Bone is Windows 10-Abode. I encounter references made all the fourth dimension to various Windows Servers, from way back in the day, to more updated versions. How does one go most determining which Windows SERVER they are using? or, is the Bone considered the SERVER? I have wanted to ask this question for the past v years, just  have just never gotten effectually to it. Does my version of Windows SERVER get managed by my ISP Provider, or practice they "host" the most updated versions of Windows SERVER for their customers? I would capeesh it if someone could please answer my question. Having read well-nigh of these posts, information technology seems that a lot of people take this question, but no i has an respond. Is the question merely to silly to answer? If so, and so consider me "giddy" and explain information technology to me anyway, please, Thank you in advance,

In the scenario you lot're describing you lot don't have a server.

In the erstwhile days of "customer server" architecture, every user had both a terminal and an associated server.   That's not how things work now in a typical domicile environment.

Your ISP doesn't demand to provide you with a "server".  Your PC provides you all of the functionality that you need so that a server is not required.

Sure, somewhere out at that place this a server that you use... for instance your email is almost likely hosted on a server.  But nobody interacts directly with that server'due south operating system... they just let their email software "practice it's thing".

Aforementioned thing with web sites that you visit... sure, they are hosted on a server somewhere.  But again, those aren't "your server"... since you don't interact directly with the server's operating system.

Cheers graye, this really answers my question. The way I empathise that Windows (no matter which version) must have its own server, but that is not relevant to what I need from windows, the server only hosts Windows, & I go what I need from my Windows OS system. All of those SERVERS, areally NOT various Windows OS systems. Merely like my MS Outlook Suite, Outlook has its own server, simply it simply allows me to use MS Outlook email. Even Microsoft has its ain server, as exercise all the other electronic mail programs, such as gmail. I remember I'thou dislocated b/c so much reference is made about Versions of MS Windows Servers, & there are many books about them as well. I know ignorance is elation, but would it be beneficial for me to acquire about some of the more recent versions of Windows Servers? I feel so much in the dark almost Windows Servers, I would similar to understand them a trivial more, as references are made almost them all the time. Good grief!!!!!!! I most certainly would never want to accept to maintain a server, even if it was a small one gear up on a PC in my home (information technology would have to stay on 24/seven). Thank you for your response, it is very much appreciated, as was the previous fellow member's, Vasudevg. I thank you both. True cat
